![]() Classic details include slate roofs on both house and garage, brick exteriors with limestone details and friezes, walnut panelling, gorgeous hardwood floors, high ceilings and exceptional millwork and trim details. Includes the menu, user reviews, photos, and highest-rated dishes from Tsing Tao Mandarin Chinese. The first floor features an expansive and elegant living room with fireplace, dining room with built-in cabinets and shelves with an easy flow to the delightful three season porch and a family room with rich walnut paneling and generous proportions adjacent to the kitchen. The kitchen is a bright and freshly renovated heart of the home with a large island, work station, abundant cabinets, fabulous ceiling height and an attached breakfast room plus spacious butler's pantry - or office or mudroom - with handsome cabinetry and a private entrance from the back terrace. The large second floor offers four bedrooms including a spacious primary suite (with full bath, dressing room and nearby office) and second floor laundry. Three more bedrooms and a full bath plus an additional half bath complete the second floor. The full third floor, also with tall ceilings, includes two bright, large and sunny bedrooms and a full hall bath. The finished lower level offers a recreation room (previously uses as a 'ballroom' as noted on the original blueprints) with fireplace and two walls of built-in shelves, billiards room, large laundry room/mudroom and generous storage plus workshop. The grounds are magnificent with a deep back yard and a private terrace with a classic brick and stone wall entrance. The large garage complements the house perfectly with high slate roof and brick finishes. I recommend Tsing Tao as highly as I can recommend a restaurant. The positioning of the house on Robsart Place allows for beautiful, open vistas to the north, east and west. The eggroll are always crispy and hot, and a vegetarian version is available. My favorite is the chicken with vegetables my husband loves the hot and sour soup, the Swechuan string beans, and the various shrimp dishes. I think the prices are quite reasonable in light of the high quality of the food. The dining room has spotless white tablecloths, and the service is highly attentive. This is a family-owned and run restaurant, and the owners are always extremely cordial, and always remember our favorite drinks, etc. ![]() The vegetables and the meats are of very high quality, and the chicken is trimmed to perfection. My children claim that the orange chicken is absolutely the best in the country. We have eaten out frequently in other major cities, especially New York and Boston, and we have never found Asian food as good as Tsing Tao. We started as frequent takeout customers when my children were small, and now we go to the restaurant about every two weeks. My family has been coming to this restaurant for more than 20 years. The place was NOT busy so there's no excuse for this. And yes that is possible, and no you shouldn't have to ask any more. Can't tell which dish it was from but in today's world for a place that is supposed to be a better class of Chinese I expect sauces without heavy doses of MSG. About 5 minutes later, there go my sinuses and the back of my neck tightening up: MSG poisoning. Gloppy pieces of chicken from which the batter fell off, and tons of chili peppers but hardly any heat. Spicy Chicken: We ordered Princess, but it's like they did the Empress version (battered) but completed it Princess style. Mongolian Beef: This dish is so basic, yet what should have been crispy rice noodles on top was a morass of mushy rice noodle bits at the bottom mixed with the sauce. ![]() ![]() Got there JUST as it was ready (I think). Read so many positive reviews had an irrational taste last Sunday evening for Mongolian Beef, and the wife likes spicy. ![]()
